Itinerary
DAY 1: IXB/NJP TO DARJEELING TRANSFER
Upon arrival at NJP/Bagdogra Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Darjeeling. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, with spacious and clean rooms that offer stunning views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. In the afternoon or evening, take a leisurely stroll around the town and shop for souvenirs or local handicrafts. Overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling.
DAY 2: FULL-DAY DARJEELING CITY TOUR
The chilly night still dominates Darjeeling as the day begins with waking up before sunrise to witness the stunning view of the sunrise from the viewpoint. After breakfast, embark on a full-day city tour of Darjeeling.
Early morning, start the Darjeeling Package Tour and visit:
Tiger Hill Sunrise Point - An early morning visit to Tiger Hill is perfect to witness the unforgettable sunrise over the snow-covered peaks of the majestic Himalayas. As the sunrise begins, the dazzling snow-covered peaks of Mt. Kangchenjunga gloriously light up with a magnificent view. On a clear day, you can even catch a glimpse of the world's highest peak, Mt. Everest. This spot has earned international fame for the magnificent view of the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga and the great Eastern Himalayan Mountains.
Batasia Loop - The Batasia Loop is a spiral narrow-gauge railway track where the Toy Train negotiates a sudden sharp descent from Ghoom. This place provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains, with a 360-degree view of the Darjeeling landscape in the backdrop of the majestic Kanchenjunga. The loop is decorated with grass, shrubs, seasonal flowers, and benches laid inside the garden to enjoy nature while the Toy train enters, hooting its way to complete the spiral route.
Ghoom Monastery - Yiga Monastery or Old Ghoom Monastery is one of the oldest Tibetan monasteries in Darjeeling built in the year 1850 and located below the Ghoom railway station. It follows the lineage of the Sakya Sect of Vajra yana Buddhism and also has a small philosophical institute. This monastery has the biggest and oldest statue of Buddha in Darjeeling and is being bought from Tibet.
Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda - Also known as Darjeeling Peace Pagoda, are on the Jalapahar hill. They built the Temple under the guidance of Buddhist monks from Japan in the traditional Japanese style, and this place is the house of the four avatars of Buddha. Close to it is the Peace Pagoda, which showcases the four large avatars of Lord Buddha. The view from the top is magnificent, with a panoramic view of Darjeeling town and Mt. Kanchenjunga. During the visit, tourists can join for morning or evening prayers in the Temple, along with the monks.
Rangeet Valley Passenger Ropeway - Also known as The Darjeeling Ropeway, is the perfect spot to enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley below with the dreamy Darjeeling town, the lush green tea plantations, dense forests, mountain streams in their full flow, waterfalls, and the impressive snow peaks in the background.
You can also enjoy the UNESCO World Heritage famous Darjeeling railway or the Toy Train to Ghoom subject to track conditions. The evening is free to visit the Darjeeling Mall for shopping as this is the last spot to crack a great deal and grab something unique from this trip. Overnight stay in a hotel in Darjeeling.
DAY 3: DARJEELING OFFBEAT SIGHTSEEING TOUR
On day three of the Darjeeling package tour, we will explore offbeat locations near the city. Lamahatta, a scenic village situated 23km away from Darjeeling, will be our first destination. This village, located at an altitude of 6800ft, is surrounded by stunning views of mountain peaks, Dhupia & pine forests. The eco-park, created in 2012, is a must-visit place in Lamahatta. The village is peaceful and surrounded by various pine trees. The beautiful gardens, blossom view of orchids, and prayer flags in the Buddhist Monastery will give tourists peaceful vibes and a jaw-dropping view of Kanchenjunga.
DAY 4: DARJEELING TO IXB/NJP DROP VIA MIRIK - CHERISH YOUR MEMORIES
On day four, it's time to bid farewell to the beautiful town of Darjeeling. After enjoying a delicious breakfast with some of the finest Darjeeling tea, it's time to proceed towards the Bagdogra airport. But before that, we will visit Mirik Lake, also known as Sumendu Lake, which is a well-known tourist spot with a man-made lake that is 1.25 km long and 80 feet deep. The lake is surrounded by a beautiful flowering garden and coniferous trees on one side, and an arc-shaped bridge in the middle perfect for a photo op. Tourists can do boating or take a horse ride within the boundaries of the lake to admire the beauty of this place. There are souvenir shops and local food stalls set up near the lake where tourists can enjoy hot Dim sum, tea, or coffee. After spending a few hours in this beautiful environment, it's time to say a final goodbye to this place and head towards Bagdogra Airport, cherishing the memories of this amazing trip.
