Itinerary
DAY 1 : NJP/IXB TO KALIMPONG TRANSFER
On the first day of your tour, you'll arrive at Bagdogra Airport, where our representative will receive you and transfer you to Kalimpong. The drive from the airport to Kalimpong takes approximately 2.5 hours, and you'll get to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Himalayas along the way.
After reaching Kalimpong, you'll check in at your hotel and freshen up. In the afternoon, we recommend starting your tour with a visit to Durpin Dara Hill. It's a popular tourist spot that offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the Teesta River. You can also visit the Zang Dhok Palri Phodang monastery, which is located on the hill and is known for its intricate architecture and beautiful Buddhist artefacts.
DAY 2: KALIMPONG LOCAL SIGHTSEEN THEN DARJEELING TRANSFER
After breakfast proceeds towards Kalimpong, a small tiny village. Kalimpong is a virgin hill station in West Bengal renowned for its panoramic Mt Kanchanjhangha and valley views, local sightseeing in Kalimpong area includes visits to famous monasteries, Delo Park offering sweeping views of Kanchenjunga snow peaks, rivers & landscapes, visits to museums, parks, flower nurseries, missionary schools etc.
Dr Graham's Homes- This missionary school was set up by Dr J A Graham in 1900 as an orphanage & school for destitute Anglo-Indian children. It is located on the way to Deolo Hills.
Deolo Hill - This is the major attraction on Kalimpong Tour. The tourism department has created an 8 Acre of lush parkland with manicured flower gardens and several viewpoints with breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga, Durpin Hill, Kalimpong Township and the valley with rivers flowing through them.
Durpin Monastery - This Tibetan monastery is located on Durpin hill and hence the name. The actual name is Zang Dog Palri Monastery. It was built in 1972 and has some rare Buddhist scripts that were brought here by Dalai Lama from Tibet. From the upper terrace of the monastery, you get magnificent views of Kalimpong town with Kanchenjunga in the background, the valley and the plains, the Teesta & Reang rivers flowing down, and the lovely tea estates of the Peshoke area.
DAY 3: FULL-DAY DARJEELING CITY TOUR -
As the chilly night continues to dominate over Darjeeling this day calls to wake up even before the sun to witness the stunning view of sunrise from the viewpoint along with a full-day city tour Post breakfast. Early morning starts the Darjeeling Package Tour & visit :
Tiger Hill Sunrise Point : Start your day early by waking up before the sun and visiting Tiger Hill Sunrise Point, which is about 11 km from Darjeeling. This spot has earned international fame for the magnificent view of the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga, the world's third-highest peak. As the sun rises, the dazzling snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas gloriously enlighten, and on a clear day, you can catch a glimpse of the World's highest peak, Mt. Everest. The breathtaking view from Tiger Hill is worth the effort.
Batasia Loop : After experiencing the stunning sunrise, head towards Batasia Loop, a spiral narrow-gauge railway track located between Ghoom and Darjeeling. The Toy Train negotiates a sudden sharp descent from Ghoom, and this place provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains, with a 360-degree view of the Darjeeling landscape in the backdrop of the majestic Kanchenjunga. The loop is decorated with grass, shrubs, seasonal flowers, and benches laid inside the garden to enjoy nature while the Toy train enters, hooting its way to complete the spiral route.
Ghoom Monastery : Your next stop is Ghoom Monastery, also known as Yiga Monastery or Old Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest Tibetan monasteries in Darjeeling. Built-in 1850, this monastery follows the lineage of the Sakya Sect of Vajra yana Buddhism lineage and has a small philosophical institute. The biggest and oldest statue of Buddha in Darjeeling is inside this monastery and was brought from Tibet.
Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda : Moving on, visit the Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda, located on Jalapahar hill. The temple was built under the guidance of Buddhist monks from Japan in the traditional Japanese style and houses four avatars of Buddha. Close to it is the Peace Pagoda, showcasing the four large avatars of Lord Buddha. The view from the top is magnificent, with a panoramic view of Darjeeling town and Mt. Kanchenjunga. During the visit, tourists can join morning or evening prayers in the Temple, along with the monks.
Rangeet Valley Passenger Ropeway : The Rangeet Valley Passenger Ropeway, also known as The Darjeeling Ropeway, is another attraction that shouldn't be missed. It is the perfect spot to enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley below, the dreamy Darjeeling town, the lush green tea plantations, dense forests, mountain streams in their full flow, waterfalls, and the impressive snow peaks in the background. It is a must-visit attraction for adventure enthusiasts.
Darjeeling Railway or Toy Train : If you have enough time, take a ride on the UNESCO World Heritage famous Darjeeling railway or the Toy Train.
The evening is free to visit the Darjeeling Mall for shopping as this is the last spot to crack a great deal and grab something unique from this trip. Overnight in the Hotel of Darjeeling.
DAY 4: DARJEELING TO VIA SIMANA VIEW POINT, PASUPATI MARKET, GOPALDHARA TEA GARDEN, MIRIK LAKE VISITE & NJP/ IXB TRANSFER
After breakfast, you will visit places such as Via Semana View Point, Pasupati Market, Gopaldhara Tea Garden, Mirik Lake, and Transfer to NJP/IXB.
Via Simana View Point: Start your day by taking a trip to Via Semana View Point, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Located around 10 km from Darjeeling, this viewpoint is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. You can enjoy the panoramic view of Kanchenjunga, Darjeeling town, and surrounding hills. This place is also famous for its sunset views, so make sure to bring your camera along to capture the stunning scenery.
Pasupati Market: Next, head to Pasupati Market, which is located just a few kilometres from the border of Nepal. This market is famous for its variety of traditional handicrafts, clothes, jewellery, and other goods. You can find some unique and beautiful souvenirs to take back home. It is advisable to bargain while shopping in Pasupati Market.
Gopaldhara Tea Garden: Darjeeling is well-known for its tea gardens, and one of the most famous ones is Gopaldhara Tea Garden. This garden is located in the Mirik Valley, around 20 km from Darjeeling. The tea produced here is known for its high quality and distinct flavour. You can take a guided tour of the tea garden, and learn about the process of tea production from the plucking of tea leaves to the final packaging of tea. You can also sample some of the tea produced here and purchase it at the tea shop.
Mirik Lake: After visiting the tea garden, head to Mirik Lake, which is located around 30 km from Darjeeling. This serene lake is surrounded by lush green forests and is a popular spot for picnics and boating. You can enjoy the beautiful views of the lake and take a stroll around the nearby park. The place also has many restaurants and cafes nearby.
Drop to NJP/IXB: After that, we will drop you at the NJP Station/Bagdogra Airport (IXB) from where you will be leaving with some amazing memories. we will hope that you have a hassle-free return to your destination."
